In the UK (presumably other countries too) some channels send signalling information in what used to be the overscan area ::) It would be great to have the option for per channel edge cropping to overcome this on affected channels only - most work well without any cropping 'hacks' and I'd rather keep 1-1 pixel mapping for HD channels.
Funnily enough, I think if JRiver did this it would be a first. AFAIK the only option on set-top boxes is to set the TV to crop, which is a pretty sorry state of affairs.
