how should this work, as with a gui only shared folders are accessible?
-
Hi there, no one of the JRiver guys has a clue how to reach the logs on a QNAP?
-
You can SSH into the machine (using putty or another ssh client) and copy the log from the root/desktop folder to the shared folder.
I'm not familiar with QNAP servers, but this should be possible.
-
Thanks, but the problem is that I don't have knowledge about Linux commands.
Does JRiver really expect that from a user to be able to send a log?
-
The fact that it saves to root isn't great, you're right. Like I say though, I'm not familiar with QNAP servers / NASs, so I don't know - there may be reasons for this.
-
Problem is, QNAP support didn't find the path and afterwards refused JRiver support generally
So no chance to transmit a log that's needed for another problem I have with JRiver ;-(
-
Could you wait a few days for a new build of MC for QNAP?
-
sure, what would be solved there?
maybe my other problem too, frequent crashes of JRiver for qnap, too?

There is an issue with network activity that causes crashes which show up more on slower machines (which is why it's more common on the QNAP which is an embeded PC as opposed to a linux desktop PC).
We thought we had a fix last week but it's caused a couple of side effects that we are working on.
