Title: Licensing question
Post by: AGAWA on April 08, 2021, 01:36:06 am
Is license valid for current version only?
Let's say, I have purchased the license for MC27 for Mac.
New MC 28 arrives. Will I be entitled to use MC 28 with that license?
Or will I have to purchase new , full license for MC 28 for Mac?
Or  there will be some smaller upgrade fee?

Is a package available that covers several generations of MC for the future?

It depends when you purchase MC. I will say if you purchase right now, you'll be fine and you'll be able to use MC28 with it.

In general upgrades between major Media Center versions usually have a discount involved, and usually have an "early bird" special, so in the future for MC29, MC30, MC31, etc. you might want to keep watching the forums for if/when that's announced. But also do keep in mind upgrades are optional, if you're happy with the version you're using now there's no obligation to upgrade.

Nope.

This thread might be good to check out, it explains JRiver's business model and how upgrades between major MC versions work: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,81987.0.html
