Title: Plasma5 Plasmoid for Remote Control
Post by: Mike Noe on October 03, 2017, 07:54:16 pm
Plasma5 Plasmoid (a widgety thingy that sits in the systemtray or on the desktop) that gives some basic mediacenter remote control capability.  It's linux only by nature of the Plasma5 dependency, so I wasn't sure where to post -- here or in Remotes:

Plasmoid on KDE store (https://store.kde.org/p/1194975/)

Edit: Little update for those using Plasma5 desktop (is anybody?).  I added a panel view option for all the zones on the selected host.
Just the basics, track/artist and playback controls, but you can devote the whole panel to your zones or it can be sized so that it only takes the space to show one zone.

The MCWS "api" makes it some much easier to whip this out in script (or even C++) than to futz around with the MPRIS2 spec and the limitations it brings.

This thing will also work on the Plasma5 phone platform (not tested yet).

Very interesting. I've started similar attempt some weeks ago, but it just types artist/title in panel for this time.

This is super cool, sorry I'm late to the party.  Thanks for making this.
