Hello,
I have been purchasing a licence for Windows ever since MC 20/21, I purchased a license for MC 23 (Windows). I now have Mac and Windows machines. I understand the upgrade procedures and that you need either a master license, or a license for MAC. But what about older versions such as 21 or 22? Can I use, say MC 21 or 22 on my MAC? Being that they are older versions that I paid licenses for and no longer use on Windows, do I have to pay again for another license such as a master license and just use MC23? Can I switch an older version of MC to a MAC License so I can use on my MAC that I don't use on Windows anymore since I am using MC23 on Windows? Can't I get a license for MAC on an older version like MC 21 or 22 to use with my MAC instead of paying, yet again, for another license (master License) after I already paid for a license for Windows? Why not have the ability to let customers who have paid for previous versions of MC switch their previous versions to a MAC license? Oder versions are no longer in development so why would this not be possible? I definitely understand upgrading and paying for a master license on the current version (MC23) but why not be able to switch from a Windows License to a MAC license on older versions of MC?

The JRiver licencing is very generous, but I have never seen Jim allow an old licence, or any Windows licence, to be converted to a Mac licence. Why convert an older version anyway? Old software licences don't hold any value once a newer licence has been purchased. There is no trade-in value to the vendor (I've been there, done that with customers who tried to trade in a licence they bought). So if you aren't going to use the Windows MC23 licence anymore, that would be the one to trade.But I don't think that will happen. Besides, an upgrade from a Windows licence to a Master licence isn't that expensive, even though you have missed the discount period.
If you are possibly going to run MC on a Mac, but maybe run it on a Windows PC as a Client at some stage, you really need to be using the same major version on both platforms. Plus of course, you could run it on Linux as well.

I think it will be a maximum of $36.98 (https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Upgrade), but I'm not JRiver, so try and see what is offered.
