Title: Certain Files Added to Library Multiple Times
Post by: Richard Martin on November 23, 2020, 04:55:25 am
I have recently started running Media Centre from a Docker image on a Synology NAS and have hit a strange problem.

If I add a new album to my "Music" folder and run an import on the music folder, or have auto import configured, certain albums are added to the library multiple times (not everything is duplicated).
I am ending up with some albums appearing multiple times in the library.
I can work through and remove the duplicates and run an import with the option set to ignore items previously removed from the library, but I still end up with the same duplicates coming back.
I have a smartlist to find the duplicates and can see from that the filenames, track names, album names, etc are exactly the same.
Does any one have any ideas what might be causing this?

I don't know the answer but I have a similar issue.

A folder which is set up to auto import TV recordings adds the files every time that Media Center restarts, so multiple entries for the same file appear in the database. (It looks as if auto-importing has stopped working as well!)

Running V 27.0.30 on a Raspberry Pi 4.

It's nice to know that I am not the only one!
Next time it happens I will try delete in all of the items that are duplicated, not just the duplicates. Then I will do another import and see what happens.

Make sure you don't have symlinks pointed into the same import.
Symlinks are transparent so MC can't determine if the destination is unique or not.
