Title: Media PC crashed - Rethinking design- Suggestions welcomed
Post by: nbtnt1 on September 26, 2018, 02:35:24 pm
Current setup:
Bang Olufsen Beolab 5 speakers (PCM/SPDIF coax) (integrated amps = 2.500 watts each), so digital sound all the way
connected to Media PC (Win 10) + Asus sound card + running J Media Center v 24
connected screen (HDMI)  is a Phillips 65OLED803 Smart TV (only 1 wk old !!)
connected server which holds all my music, pictures, video = Synology DS1813 (which is basically a file server)
So today my media PC gave up after 6 years, and I was thinking if it will be possible to utilize the Smart TV a bit more.
I'm not into surround systems as the Beolabs are more than enough powerful to reconfigure my living room on half throttle (!!)
How should I be thinking. Do I need a new PC in the middle to run J River ?
Thanks for any suggestions :)
