A lot of recent trends were predicted back in the 20th Century...
.... for example, a pocket device with Siri-like assistant was a feature of the 1980s British TV Show "Star Cops".
However, in an era with nuclear bombs, man landing on the Moon, personal computers, and so forth - I cannot remember anyone predicting an intact world with a general rejection of rationality.
Sure, there were "post-apocalyptic" irrational worlds (such as Mad Max) where the destruction of most infrastructure causes chaos and irrationality. (And "1984" had a brutal totalitarian authority mandating irrationality - "2+2=5".)
But I cannot remember any prediction of a voluntary irrationality amidst widespread technological advances.
Am I forgetting a novel, TV show or Movie ?
