Title: None of the "Audio Device" choices works with my DAC

I've tried them all.  There are 19 options listed!

Trying to play to PS Audio Directstream DAC via USB.  I just upgraded the firmware on the DAC.  I was able to connect with the previous firmware, but I don't remember which choice worked.  Note that if I connect my computer directly to the DAC, MS21 recognizes the DAC by name.

Try "front".  I think that's the USB connection on the front.

I switched in a Yulong DA8 which plays when an output labelled iec958 is selected.  Perhaps the problem is caused by firmware update to the Directstream?

That's possible.
Try to find out if the DAC with firmware update requires a particular kernel version...
