Title: MP4 will not stream.
Post by: bp-plickner on September 12, 2015, 06:18:33 pm
I can not find a way to get mp4 or mv4 videos to stream to my Sony TV over a lan from the media server running MC 20 or MC 21

MP4 used to stream fine running mc 20 under windows 8 and windows 10 preview builds on the same computer

Other video files stream fine such as m2ts and video_ts folders.

Serviio (free version) streams all my video files.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

In MC, there are some settings for DLNA.  You could try the video conversion settings.

I messed with the dlna video settings and the best I could do is get a low res stream to my tv using the mp2 nstc DVD conversion setting. Meanwhile Serviio streams a nice hi res stream to the same TV. Previous versions of MC streamed a higher res video to this same TV ? What a pain!

Thanks

AndrewFG (a user here) wrote a great prog that will interrogate your DLNA devices to see what streams it supports, and will even suggest the best settings in MC - more here:

AndrewFG, if you tell me where the log files are I will post them

After you have selected the renderer,  either press Save or E-mail...
