if your logged in as another user that path may\will change depending on where they are located.
for me:
D:\Documents and Settings\Mark Farmer\My Documents\My Pictures
For My Wife
D:\Documents and Settings\Sue Farmer\My Documents\My Pictures
Same For Both Users:
D:\My Pictures

No no im logged on as the same user . . .

well if you do a search for the files and they say they are in a path then they are.
if you have alot of files in that folder it may take some time for windows explorer to show you the files.
you better right click on the file and check the path to the file.

That's what I thought so I reimported all images to MC (I knew the files names were good/the same as the tags).
I got the same result -- thumbnail in MC but no image associated with it + no image in My Pict + yes image on Find.
Anyway, I'll try it tonight when I am calm enough to deal.
SERENITY NOW . . .
-
you could do this
create a new folder
c:\My pictures
then do a search for your lost pictures.
cut them all and then go to the new folder
paste to the new folder
then import them.
-
Nope.
I cut My Pictures, moved them to c:\, imported them, renamed properties from file names but I get the same error mssg:
"MC was unable to play nay of the files . . . Please make sure that the path in the Media Library points to the right location. Also double check to make sure that you are not unintetionally filtering these files."
The problem is that the filename in MC properties is not updating. All the files have the wrong path designated EVEN AFTER I use Library Tools.
WTH???
-
never heard anything like it it works for me here.
-
Is there a simle way to force the MC filename to update?
When I move the images on my hard mem. and reimport them in MC, their path and file names are NOT updating.
-
Have you tried:
File->Library->Update Library
Be sure to read the Help to understand this thoroughly. I had difficulty with a similar association problem. I think MC database retains that type of info, even if the source has changed, so that it can deal with removeable media, ie CD's, portable hard drives.
