Title: YADB: Can't seem to find a match
Post by: Ekeehn on September 10, 2003, 12:19:11 pm
Can someone please help me.
Organizing my files with the use of YADB is not working: none of the selected files were found (I tried quite a lot and I know Eminem is in the dbase!). This is how i do it: Select the song (right-mouse click), and than select " Look up track info from YADB".
The answer I get is: File information was retrieved for 0 of 1 files.

NB. I did it also with numbers with correct tags: same result.

are you looking up a CD or File?

The CD Database Is Not The Same As The By File Lookup.

Thanks for answering.
I was looking up tag-information for just one song (tracknumber, album, songtitle, artist etc.). Can you explain me some more about the possabillities? I already looked in the helpfile, in the FAQ, etc, but didn't come up with something.
Thanks in advance.

When you rip CD's the program will automatically look up the tag info.

If you have a file from a ripped CD or from another source, then you use the right click "track" method that you described.

If you've done this (track lookup) on unidentified tracks, and nothing was found, it means they are not in our track database, even though the CD might be in our CD database.

The  track database is newer and is still filling up.

Ok. Thanks. I'll just have to be patient in this one. It's good to know i'm not doing anything wrong.

Greetings.

Hi Jim.

As you know i have uploaded approx 58000 tracks to your Yadb database.  The majority of these will be complete albums.  How do i know if they have been treated as so?

Is it possible to see a "total " list of what is there?  Would it be possible for Yadb to state how many files of xxx were new to it and therefore saved to Yadb?

Just some thoughts

Graham

For awhile (I like that timeframe), would it be possible to have a URL to just go and look at the database? Be lots easier then to know if there were actually no match or if there were truly a problem.

-=-=-=-

If you mean to know how many of the songs infos you upload are new to YADB and put in the database ,yes it would be nice.

Now ,really it is more an artefact good for our ego than a really needed feature... but still a nice one.

Here a link about some YADB stats:
