Windows 7. JRiver Media Center 19 that vendor installed with custom setup and plugins. They used their license and somehow it now asks me for my license. I had 18 installed with my own license on other computers. I bought a 20 upgrade license and want to know if/how I can install 20 and yet keep as much of the customized settings, etc. as possible.
Thanks.

Please see "Old Versions" on our wiki for a link to MC20.

Thanks for the link, but that did not help me at all. I already have mc 20 and what I need to know is what I asked in my question.
How do I install MC 20 that uses my license over MC 19 that uses the vendor license and keep all of the MC 19 settings and plugins in-place???
Searching the forum and wiki I did not find any info on how? So could you please provide more how or at least point me to more detailed info?
Thanks

I'm no authority on this but...
I've read here several times that people routinely have several versions of MC installed on the same machine with no problems. Like version 18, 19, and 20, all on the same machine. They don't run them at the same time.... only one at a time! But they seem to have no issues.
Licenses for each major version should be separate. The vendor license for 19 should have nothing to do with your license for 20. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're asking.

I think the question is really "how do I migrate configuration from mc19 to mc20?". I think the answer to that depends on what customisation has been applied, specifically what configuration does not get stored in the library?

Plugins are not migrated.

I'm not sure of all the plugins and settings because the VENDOR did it for me, but I'd like to have the same options carried over to 20.
So I guess what would really help is if there was some way using MY new Master license I could open the VENDOR 19 installed version to check what the settings and plugins are. Also, any way to transfer any settings without having to do them manually would help.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I just cannot seem to clearly state my problem so I will try to do a better job of it this time.
1) I have 19 installed using a VENDOR's license that has a LOT of custom settings and plugins. Call this setup A.
2) For some reason when I open 19 it now says the Trial VENDOR license has expired and I can no longer reach the vendor so I cannot get/restore/use MC 19 setup A.
3) I bought a 20 Master license for MYSELF and downloaded the 20 installer.
4) I want to install 20 using MY license either with or over 19 (VENDOR license) and TRANSFER the settings and plugins from VENDOR setup A (19) to MY 20 version without doing them MANUALLY one at a time since I wouldn't know how which is why I originally had a vendor do it for me.
Please feel free to ask mor specific questions about my problem and even better somebody could now be able to provide some help.
I've used MC for the last 3-4 versions on my other pc's in a basic manner up to version 18 until I got a new HTPC from a vendor no lnger in business that sold me his heavily customized versioin of it.
Thanks
Rick

use a current backup from 19 and install it in 20...the backup will not include plugins or skins not native to MC
the master license is good for the version You bought it for...unless it was purchased between specific dates of MC20 and MC21
a master license is for three different operating systems not different versions of MC
hope this helps

Whatever I did for version 19 to get in in trial mode (?) seems to have lost any library backups. Guesse verything I paid the vendor for has been lost and I'll just have to start from scratch.
Thanks everybody for your efforts even if I did not get to my destionation.

no, you can make a backup yourself
