First time poster here!
As the subject says really.
Since Windows 10 x64, JRiver now crashes when I press the play button when Audio Output is set to the ASIO Driver for my Fiio E10k. Foobar works fine for example, so it must be something to do with JRiver. I have this problem in both JRiver 20 and now 21.
I've attached the log but the lines that, to my eyes, are the important lines are in the "previous log.txt" which are:
/
0005906: 1932: Playback: CASIOPlugin::CreateASIO: Finish (0 ms)
0005906: 1932: Playback: CASIOPlugin::StartASIO: Starting ASIO for device: {58527022-702F-47D6-B9F4-97556F3FF061}
0005906: 1932: Playback: CASIOPlugin::StartASIO: Finish (result: 1) (0 ms)
0005906: 1932: Playback: CASIOPlugin::Open: kAsioGetIoFormat not supported
0005906: 1932: General: TopLevelExceptionFilter: Unhandled exception -- program crashing
0005906: 1932: General: TopLevelExceptionFilter: Message: 514, wParam: 0, lParam: 15073527
/
Any ideas guys? Apart from that, absolutely love JRiver :-)

Most people have had to reinstall MC on Windows 10. Have you tried that?

Thanks for response. It is a clean install of Windows 10 so that's no issue.
-
It's tanking in the ASIO driver itself (fiioe10asio.dll).
So there's not very much for us to go on.
Maybe the call to ASIOFuture(kAsioGetIoFormat, &DeviceFormat) causes the driver to tank?
Could you check if there's a newer ASIO driver available from your manufacturer? Thanks.
-
Thanks for taking a look. No newer driver is available unfortunately though. Any more info or files I can provide to help?
-
It's a longshot, but you could ask the manufacturer to take a look at it.
They can contact me if they find something. I'm matt at jriver dot com.
We're used on such a variety of ASIO hardware, that it's hard for me to believe there's anything too fundamentally wrong.
Thanks.

Same thing is happening with me ... I had JR20 - upgraded to Windows 10. ASIO driver started crashing (ASUS, DSD64) after a random amount of play
Upgraded to 21, same issue
