Here's the new skin for 9.1.

Download here:

It requires MC 9.1.246 or above.

Now who's going to crack a joke first?

Just wondering about your sunglasses "" 8) "". You don't really need them with this skin :-X.

Update: Ok, just realized the little bit of bright yellow...

They are creatures of the night.
Even with this skin they need sunglasses  ;D

Yeah, the black/white contrast is a little bit gross... but a nice one altogether  ;)

By the way, are there any more hidden secret goodies in MEGA-ME 3.0 than seperate colors for splitters and "PositionSliderFront"? Would like to know ;D

No joke from me.  Don't have 246 yet (going to use my new DL manager to get it for me while I'm asleep!) but the skin looks great from the pic.  I hope you used that toolbars inactive blend = ffffff.

This is the best skin I've seen MC or otherwise.  I really like the contrast btween the black an the other elements of the skin.  Even the text is readable, which you don't find often on dark skins.  Great job.

I wanted a cool black one, now I got it.

However Jim... Isn't this in the wrong forum?? Shouldn't this be posted with the rest of the skins??

It's chicken to duck.

You're right and I'll put it there, but it's not quite a "third party" skin.

That black dress would really be helped by lots of colored flowers (icons) in the bouquet (toolbar).

I like the skin a lot but the toolbar icons are hard to see and some are getting totally lost in the dark background. I don't like having to hover over the icons to see what they are.

Since every bride needs something old, can we please have our old colored icons back?

Absolutely.  Shelly - you can do this yourself.  Browse to C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center\MegaSkins\BB.  right click on main.xml and 'edit'.  Change the value under <Toolbars> for <Colors InactiveBlend to ffffff.

4 comments from me.

1.  You can't see the slider in the panes scroll bar (black on black)

2.  I prefer a grey background for list and tree as the white is a bit harsh.  I know you've never seen a bride in grey before but in this case she looks so much better.

3.  I don't like the funny length of colons across the top bar.  It spoils a really nice looking black / silvery combination.

4.  Great skin.  I love it.

If anyone else agrees try this color - 9FA3BC, or this - A1A3B0.  Both bluey grey. Perfect.

...And another thing.  The rating icons are a bit naff.  I've replaced them with the ones from ToMy00's WMP skin.

You need to use a program like photoshop or paint shop pro.  Se what they look like by editing the main.xml - change the values againt Tree & List for back color - save the changes - re-apply the skin.  Keep a copy of the main.xml first just in case you don't like what you see.

This is nice and reasonably elegant for a dark skin. I'm not a great fan for dark skins - however I like this. Well done!

Hmmm. Jury's still out here. I've not tired of DJ's Nightlife skin yet. I flick between that and Tomy00's mediaOne skin depending on my mood.

One of the first things I noticed was the disjointed look of the top toolbar with the dimples(?) running underneath them.
not too keen on that. I feel that individual areas, player controls, main file lists, viz'n window etc, look quite neat in their own way, but don't seem to sit together all that well. All looks a bit chaotic. Mind, these are only 1st impressions, it may grow on me more later.
Don't think I'd consider marriage though.

Well, wasn't too into it at first - not really a dark skin fan - PixOS was much more my style.

Changed the main back colour though from white and now like it a LOT more. Could get used to it.

I found:  8A92F9  to be a nice backcolour.

The white was just too harsh a contrast.

Followed JLee's instructions to change the toolbar icons color and also got rid of the colons in the top toolbar using Photoshop.

Now what specific values do I change in main.xlm to change the background color?

Tree and List - Back values.

I've also now removed the empty space from under MC as it bugged me - all the toolbar enteries are now displaying too high now though and aren't sitting on the black bit - how do I push them down a bit?

Also - how do I change the colour of the text for the properties window as well as the colour of the lines between each field?

How about moving the skin modification discussions to a new thread?  Others will never find it here.

In general, if a thread strays off topic for more than a couple of replies, it's probably means it's time to start a new one.

I don't like it.

It's not a very inviting color... especially as the first impression for a new user. PixOS was much better.
