Title: JRiver 21 Mint/Lubuntu DAC issue
Post by: LarryGA on October 24, 2015, 02:02:37 am
Hi all

Completely Linux n00b here so please be patient  :D

I've got and HP laptop, I've tried this with both current releases of Mint and Lubuntu and MC 20 & 21.  I followed Awesome Donkey's (excellent) install guides.

I have a Cambridge Audio DACMagic (not the plus, or the 100 etc).  Usb installs the C-media device that it's supposed to, and when using audacious and the like, I can choose it for playback, and the sync light on the DAC turns on.   In fact it sounds fantastic

The problem is, that I can never find that device in JRiver, which is driving me quite, quite mad.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can you list the devices that you see in MC?  Once of them is probably your DAC, they're just formatted a little differently.

Many thanks - I worked my through the list of about 20 without any luck.

Eventually got so annoyed I did a Windows 8.1 installation, everything worked immediately.  The maturity of MC on Windows is clear, but I had fun on Mint and Lubuntu.

Would like to have got to the bottom of it, but time didn't allow!
