Title: Playing/Reading CDs
Post by: thirstyfish on September 03, 2003, 11:56:19 am
I keep getting this error message when I insert a new CD:

"Media Center has detected a new CD in drive D: but can't get the correct volume information. Please try ejecting and reinserting the CD".

This only happens in MediaCenter 9...CDs read fine in Windows Media Player. Files already on my drive also play fine.

Any help would be graciously appreciated.

Here's my computer info:

Another application may be accessing the drive at the same time.  Other programs that burn CD's can sometimes create problems.

Try turning autoplay off for the drive.

Thanks for your quick reply!!!!

how do I turn off auto-play?

I went and changed the setting:

Action to perform when media inserted:

For CD - I changed from "play" to "nothing". That didn't fix it though.

Is auto-play found somewhere else?

I get a similar message sometimes.  It only happens with my CD-Rom [not my writer].

Quitting and restarting MC fixes it.  I don't have auto-play on [ though auto insert notification is on].

Seems to me that it might be a bug.
