Hello,
I've just added a Marantz NA8005 to my setup and I'm having a problem when using MC to play to the NA8005 it will only play the first song on the playlist and repeat it over and over. If I use the NA8005 itself to pull a playlist it's fine, this only happens when using MC to control the Marantz.
I'm using MC 19. I have it on 2 different PC's and both have the same issue. I have tried all combinations of "Disable setnext" and "Ignore transport events". Repeat is OFF. The NA8005 has the latest firmware.
If I click next it will advance to the next song in the playlist, but then repeat that song.
I bought this NA8005 mostly for the DLNA support, so I would really like to sort this out. I have no problem upgrading to MC21, but I would like to make sure this whole setup is going to do what I need before pulling another trigger.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Welcome to the forum.
Not all devices will work for both playing to and playing from them. What you're seeing is not uncommon.
User AndrewFG has a nice utility to test a Renderer. It's in his signature.
It would be easy to install MC21 and use the trial version to test.

And here is my signature...

As it turns out changing: Add or configure DLNA servers -> Audio -> Mode from "Original" to "Specified Output Format" solved my playlist problem.
I'm at a loss to explain why "Original" setting is causing a playlist problem, the Marantz is seems quite happy to play anything I throw at it that way so I would not have suspected this setting to be a problem. Changing the setting back and forth on both my PC's confirmed it is indeed the culprit.
FWIW, MC21 demo exhibited the same behavior.

Er, well, if you call repeating the same track "quite happy" then I suppose you would be right...
Out of interest what is the "original" format that does not work?

What I meant by that is that the Marantz didn't have any problem actually playing any of my files with MC set to Original, no format error messages, no hiccups. The Marantz seems quite capable to play the files in original format, the only glitch is somewhere between MC and the Marantz it won't advance through a playlist unless MC is set to unpack and transcode.

I have a mixture of Flac and mp3's, various bitrates.

I am guessing your problem is with high bit rate flacs. Or?
-
Nope, any format, any bitrate, it didn't matter. The issue occurs with 24/96 or 24/192 Flac's and also with mp3 at any bitrate. I didn't test for Flac at other bitrates, but I have no reason to suspect it would be any different

Try download my DMR Analyser from my sig, run the test on your receiver, post the test log here, and let's see what we learn from that.

I had the same problem with my Marantz NA6005, it started after I ran an Internet Boost program, J River and even windows cast wouldn't stream more than one track to the receiver. I rolled back my internet settings and it worked fine. It seems the boost program removed a 20% reserve of the local network bandwidth in the QOS packet scheduling, and I'd imagine the streaming was a been part of that. It's all working fine now anyway. What I did was:
1. log on as Administrator.
2. start – run – type gpedit.msc
3. expand “local computer policy”
4. then expand “administrative templates”
5. then expand “network branch”
6. Double-click the “QoS Packet Scheduler”
7. Double-click "limit reservable bandwidth" and click on 'not configured', which sets the default for windows at 20% reserve.
