I have just installed JR on my Mac .I have unmounted internal optical drive - and have two disk drives instead inside my Macbook pro (SSD+HDD)
I use now my optical drive as external via USB
It works with JR when I add it as a device (handheld) - I mean one can browse what is on DVD, play its content etc
But "Rip disc" wont work. I recive this massage: "Ripping is currently unavailable...."
Any idea how to make JR Rip disc from external optical drive?

There have been a number of reports like this recently. I'm not sure what the JRiver team is working on with respect to the Mac version. They may be working to fix this now... but I don't know.
In the mean time, you can do very high quality rips of your CDs with several other apps, some of which are free. I use XLD and am quite happy with it.

Are you trying to rip a DVD? MC on Mac will only rip audio CD's.

I’m having the same issue. MC 20 was working just as I wanted it to.

Are you using 21.0.24?
