Title: Linux MC 21 vs Windows MC21
Post by: omnipop1026 on December 01, 2015, 09:50:54 am
Hi there,

This is my first post.

I have an Asus Eee PC netbook 32- bit  running Ubuntu 14.04. In downloading Media Center, I tried both the Linux version and the Windows version running through Linux Wine. Both were pokey, but the Linux I tried was worse. Both versions would crash, but the Windows less often, so I bought the Windows version.

I think I made a mistake. The Windows version crashes too often. I am pretty sure it is due to Wine not interacting smoothly with Media Center. Or perhaps Media Center is 64 bit and I use a 32 bit machine?? Nevertheless, for $49.98 , it should not crash as often as it does.

Does JRiver have a Linux version for 32 bit machines? If so, how can I switch to it? I have a copy of the receipt

Did you try running on Windows, without Wine?

There are some old threads here on Wine.  You might find something.

When does it crash?  What are you doing?

MC is a 32bit program.

I vaguely remember trying to run it using WINE a while back. Didn't go to well...
