Just a short demo of a program, HouseBand, that hopefully will see the light of day before too long. HouseBand integrates JRiver and the Amazon Echo.
There's lot's of features I didn't demo, including playlist support, now playing, PlayDoctor playlists, etc.

What is the largest size library this has been tested on? (Total tracks, Amount of Artists, Albums?)
Looks uber cool! (hoping there is no size limit to what Alexa can recall/perform.)
-
Thanks!
The largest library it's been tested on is mine....about 14,000 files.
But, Alexa isn't limiting anything...it should work on any library that JRiver can handle. It just looks up tracks from your local library.
As for speed, that demo is about as slow is it could possibly go! I was running JRiver on a rasberry pi and the screen was updating through VNC.
So, it should be even quicker if your server was on a real computer.

thanks for the info.
I was reading on amazon about the echo, and checking out the Q&A's (by typing in receiver) it looks as if echo only plays from itself?
does your route stream/play through HTPC's/receivers instead of to the echo device? (basically one would use echo as voice recognition, but play elsewhere.)
-
Yes! That's really the point. You can direct the output anywhere you can direct JRiver output. The app just provides a voice interface for JRiver.

sweet! Ill be keeping my eyes open for this release!
work well for large names (classicals?)

Wow, HouseBand may well be the killer feature that gets me to buy an echo. Nice work!
