Title: What formats are available for playlists? Does MC support pls?
Post by: macdonjh on December 11, 2015, 08:02:05 pm
How many different formats exist for playlists?  Does MC support pls?

I have had trouble with m3u playlists not being recognized by my A&K Jr.  A thread on a forum says that A&K uses pls for playlists.  Can anyone confirm that?

I've never heard of PLS.  I've never used any of the A&K players.  But this says that MC supports PLS:

Thanks, Brian.  Now if I could just find where in MC I can define what format I want my playlists in I'll be able to find out if what I read is true or not.

If you want to Export playlists in PLS format, I don't think MC supports that.  File > export playlist .  There are something like 6 formats, and PLS is not included.

I'd be surprised if a big boy player like A&K didn't support something standard like M3U or M3U8, etc.  It might be worth researching that.
