HI There,
I have my the MC software installed on my main computer which accesses the actual media which is on a hardwired server in my home. I want to keep the library on this machine and have no plans on changing this.
I have now purchased a WinTV-HVR-955Q which I want to setup on the actual server (which has direct access to cable wire).
I am now wondering if there is a way to get the MC software to "find" the tv card on the server.
What is the best way to set it up?
Do I need to set up a second install of MC on the server? Do I share libraries?
thanks
Dave

You need to run JRiver Media Center on the server as well as on the client. MC running on the server should be configured to be a server (Tools \ Options \ Media Network). Run TV setup on the server. Once set up, you can watch TV channels on a client. Recordings are done on the server only.
