Title: What Is Best Laptop For Music Server

I am going to buy a new Windows laptop with a 1TB drive to use as a dedicated music server. Just wondered what features are necessary. How much RAM do I really need? Any other suggestions? I figure that since I will not be using it to run other software other than JRiver Media Center, I probably do not need all that powerful a laptop. Will be ripping CDs and playing Hi RES FLAC files. It will be connected via USB to a high quality DAC (Esoteric K-07) and played using a Hegel 160 amp. Thank you!

You really don't need much power at all, 4GB of RAM is plenty.

If you are really just using it as a stationary music server, I would suggest buying a used T420 or T520. Rock solid machines, cheap, plenty of power.
