I bought one a month ago and it's been nothing but a solid experience.
Netatmo at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Netatmo-Weather-Station-for-Smartphone/dp/B0095HVAKS)
Netatmo web site (http://www.netatmo.com)
For about $150 + shipping, you get the base station plus a monitor that goes outside. The outside monitor is battery powered and the inside base station is powered by USB.
Setup is easy. Plug the base into a PC using USB, download their application, and provide your wireless password. It updates the firmware and then you plug it into a USB power plug.
It requires an account on their site.
They provide a phone app that shows the indoor and outdoor temperature, and you can also check it with a browser.
They have a couple of other monitors that I haven't tried yet. One with a camera for home security and a thermostat.
Nice device, maybe the next Nest.
