Title: Mata Data is not showing for .DFF files
Post by: trcns on December 17, 2015, 01:20:30 pm
I purchased some DSD music, the file extension is .DFF, the tracks are listed in the library but no Mata Data or Cover Art, do I have to change some thing to make them appear?

dff files are like wav files - they do not have tags in the files. You will have to add the meta data and cover art within MC and it then gets stored in the library. dsf files contain tags, but MC goes through a PCM conversion if you try to convert from dff to dsf. The track information probably came from the file names. If their is more data (artist, composer, etc.) in the file and path name you can have MC get that information from the file and path name. (select the files and right click to get  Library Tools- Fill Properties from File Name). The people providing DSD files really should use dsf.
