Not worth thinking about until there's an open-source decoder.
It's a lossy compression scheme for high-res audio that enables them to stream "high res" with the same bandwidth as 16/44 FLAC.
It means higher quality streaming from services like Tidal but nothing more. The Tidal player will be converting to PCM on output, so JRiver will get the uncompressed high-res via the WDM/ASIO driver.
