Title: Restrict Video playback by zone
Post by: mfb on December 30, 2015, 10:02:26 am
I have the problem of having kids :-)  They do have their tablet devices to control their DLNA renderers (Raspberry PIs) to enjoy our music librabry.

Smart as they are they also figured out they can watch movies from our library on their tablets.

I would like to disallow the streaming of movies to their devices, but they should be able to watch movies in the living room. This seems to rule out "users" as the control instrument.

Is there any other way to control this in JRiver MC? (Windows)

Or on the network layer?

Thanks,
Markus

Welcome to the forum.

Maybe Access Control would help:

Thanks for your reply.

My understanding is that Access Control has been deprecated since MC 19 and I am on MC 21. In fact I do not have the menu item View > Access Control.

Since the restriction I would like to implement is not bound to a person (user) but more to a location, I think it would have to be something related to zones.
