Title: Moving file to another disk
Post by: tranle on January 01, 2016, 06:33:33 pm
Hi,
my disk containing my music files is now too small, so I have gotten a bigger drive and moved:
L:\Music\... => D:\Music\...

Looking at this wiki page:
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Moving_Files#Library_Tools_.2F_Find_and_Replace

I thought that I could use the 'Library Tools / Find and Replace' to edit the 'File Location' to tell JRiver the new location.
But 'File Location' does not show up as one of the field.

Is there a different way to tell JRiver of the new file location ?

Thanks.

Easy, select the files you want to change the Drive Letter on, the go to the "Rename, Move & Copy Files" with the following:
- Update database.....
- Find & Replace....

see pic!

Thanks
Nathan

Thanks Nathan. That was it.

the reason that I did not swap the new drive in place, is because I was consolidating 2x1TB to 1x6TB
So the other half already had D:

Glad it worked.  Also next time you can use MC to actually do the move as well.
