I read some items in this forum which all are the same problems as I have, therefore I will create a seperate topic for it:
When connecting my Archos Jukebox and navigating to the root of it, it gives an error "An Invalid Argument Was Encountered"
I also cannot drag & drop to the root or via the action pane
Anyone else experiencing this problem ?

I have still the same problem with build .237
Tried it on another PC as well, the same problem.

I made some changes that may correct this. They will be available in the next build of MC (9.1.238) I do not have the Archos you have to test, but let me know how it works out.
Thanks,
Steve

Same problem with .238
It only happens at the root , if going directly to a directory, it works.
But then going to the root again to start uploading, I get that error message
-
Can you copy to the root using Windows Explorer?
What is the volume label of your Archos?
Steve
-
I can copy to the root via Windows Explorer.
My Archos is called JUKEBOX
fyi: it still works with build 180
-
I just looked up the other user that has the same problem, so you can see that it is not a one occurence problem:

BennyD,
I do not think the other user is having your problem. His issue is folder creation at the root level, not failure to copy files to the root. He was having tranfer failures, but with an older version of MC.
Anyway,
Try right-clicking on the Archos drive letter and select the option for "Rearrange upload folders" and then select none. If this works, let me know and I will explain what is going on.

Hi Steve,
What you suggested didn't solve the problem because it was already set to none.
Then I clicked on "Show Queued files only" and now it works.
So when All files are shown, it doesn't work
-
BennyD,
Are you saying that you can add a file to the queue and if you have 'Show Queued Files Only' selected, the file transfers, but when you repeat the test and toggle back to 'Show All Files' the file fails?
This is hard to believe, but I am trying. Can anyone else verify this report?
-
Indeed,
When "Show queued file only" is selected, I can transfer but after the transfer my Archos dissapears from DEVICES and can only see it back when restarting MC.
When "Show all files" is turned on, I immedately get that error message when clicking on the root of my Archos.
Also, "Show queued files only" is not remembered when MC is restarted.

I did some further testing and found the problem:
I have a m3u file (a playlist) in the root of my Archos.
If I delete this file, all works fine, even with "Show all files" selected.
If I create a m3u file at the root (even an empty one), I get that error message.
Maybe this can help you.
-
bennyd,
This should be fixed in the next MC build.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,
That problem is solved now.
Other problems I now discovered:
- Some folders show different icons than other folders.
- Clicking on a folder with playlists (m3u) in it, tries to show the files in those playlists but it doesn't show all the files that are in that/those playlist(s), it shows some names of the playlists in the name column and then some files belonging to other playlists in that folder where the name of that playlist is not shown, very weird
- All files their duration is not correct compared to those in the library (most files show between 0 and 2 minutes long)
- I noticed a column "Playlists", it never shows anything in there, not even when browsing a folder with playlists in it, what is it meant for ?

The drive letter should be one icon and all the subfolders should be another.

If you click a folder with an m3u file, it should appear like any other file. It should appear the same as if you looked at an m3u under "My Computer" in the MC tree.

I could not duplicate this. What types of files are you having this problem with?

I have removed this in the next build.

The drive letter should be one icon and all the subfolders should be another.
http://users.pandora.be/benny.dormaels/Archos/Icons.jpg
Here you can see the different icons, under "Professor" there are normal mp3 files (no playlists) just like in the folder "Files" so I don't see a reason to show different icons.
If you click a folder with an m3u file, it should appear like any other file. It should appear the same as if you looked at an m3u under "My Computer" in the MC tree.
I tried on another PC and this looks ok now (must be a problem on my PC)

The files are all mp3's, see below the difference between browsing from MC (via Devices, because my original files on my Harddisk show ok), and via the explorer. If I import them into MC directly from my device without moving/copying them, it is also wrong duration.

I have removed this in the next build.

-
bennyd,
The next version of MC should take care of the icon issue and duration.
Thanks,

Thanks for the kind service.
Other companies can learn from your service.
Thanks again,

Hi Steve,
The duration problem is solved,
the icon problem is still there:

BennyD,
The icon is changing for your item called "Playlists" because the plugin is generically designed for other players where "Playlists" are a specific type of item. I could fix it for you, but would break it for them. If you rename Playlists to something else (i.e. My Playlists) the problem will go away.

Got it,
