Title: How to setup a Recorded TV entry in Theater View
Post by: bjmillar on January 07, 2016, 03:24:07 pm
I am testing JRiver MC 21 as a replacement for WMC (because of moving from Windows 7 to Windows 10). I have managed to setup MC21 so that I have almost all the functionality that I had before. However I am stuck trying to see the previous TV recordings in Theater View. I can setup recordings in Theater View. I can see the recording entries when they are being recorded in Theater View. But when the recordings are complete I cannot see them. They have been recorded ok as I can see them in the recorded tv folder and also in Standard View, I just cannot work out the settings I need to list them in Theater View. Can anyone help me with the configuration that I need for Theater View or point me to a suitable thread?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.   Recorded shows will be found under Video > Shows.

Thanks for your quick response. With that nugget of information I have got it setup now so thanks. Bye bye WMC ;-)

If the show is a movie, it is found at Video > Movies.

Bjmillar, I made the same move. After a few weeks of use, you'll probably find that JRiver's software offers much more than windows MCE did.

If you haven't seen it already, this thread lists a few key differences in remote control use when moving to JRiver:

you can also set up other paths in theaterview to split out things like recorded Tv, Shows etc so they dont all end up in the same view
MC is very powerful in this instance.
