Title: Internal Volume vs Application Volume
Post by: Talisker on January 08, 2016, 10:52:31 am
100% internal volume is about as loud as 10% application volume. Do I need to tweak some settings somewhere?

The application volume will be remembered.  So set that to 100%, then switch to Internal volume mode.

Internal volume is transparent to the bits at 100% and attenuates below 100%.

generally you don't want to use Application volume. Set your system volume in Windows to 100% ... choose internal and set the noramaly max volume on your preamp. Then control the volume through JRiver. Or choose Disabled Volume and control the volume via your preamp or speaker monitors. Usually one of these is what you would want to use. There are some reasons for System volume sometimes. this should explain what you need to know https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Volume (https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Volume)

oops Matt beat me to the bunch .. posting anyway  ;D

It seems to me whether I set internal volume to 20, 30, 90 or 100%, I am getting the same volume/loudness, and I have bitstream set to none already, what could I be doing wrong?
