Title: Inconsistent Skip control for Video and TV
Post by: pauly139 on January 10, 2016, 04:37:50 pm
With video playback, the mouse roller button skips forward and backward. This happens whether the video is from a DVD rip or TV recording.

However when watching time-shifted TV, the roller buttons zooms the display.

This inconsistent control isn't intuitive (for me at least),

Is it possible to have the mouse roller button skip playback in both instances? Or perhaps we can configure the use of the mouse controls to suit our individual preferences?

I'd appreciate a response from J River on this - have I missed a configurable setting somewhere, or do I just have to accept the inconsistency.

Thanks.

I confirm the inconsistency.  I don't think there is a setting for it, but I think I can make them consistent.

Thanks for fixing this!

Last inconsistency is that with my IR Remote the skip times from 'Options' are used (in my case 30 secs for forward jumps and 10 secs for backward jumps). However with the mouse roller button it jumps 20 secs both forward and backward.

Could this be altered so the mouse uses the configured times like the IR Remote?
