Since I have been using MC (Since version 20), I have experienced problems while listening to music. It doesn't take long for Either Theater View or Display View (not sure which) freezes while listening to music. I cannot tell which mode but it is the mode that shows the art while listening. Music continues to play and I can hit esc twice to go back to the main application. I can then go back into Theater View and navigate a bit more before it will lock up again.
I have updated MC a couple of times to solve this problem and now I am on the latest 21.0.37 with the same issue. I also rebuilt the library thinking it could be a DB issue but the fact that music still plays and I can recover leads me to believe this is an interface issue. The PC is a Core i7 3 GHz with 8 GB RAM and NVidia GTX 970 video card running Windows 8.1 Pro x64. I use no plugins and keep settings pretty much at the defaults.
Lockups do not happen when using MC to watch TV, which I do most of the time, or using any other part of Theater View.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can try? I do plan on upgrading to Win 10 soon but I am holding out for news on Copy-Once capabilities before I commit.
Thanks,
Mike

im seeing the same as you for a long time. i read in some threads here that there is a problem with the newer nvidia drivers (you might want to do a search) and that installing older ones might help. i did not try that.

Thanks for the input Gappie. I see this is always a common suggestion for troubleshooting various display problems but I also use this system for gaming and using the latest game-ready drivers is preferred to ensure a smooth gaming experience. I would argue that since this is my only video related issue and is not a problem in any other software, the bug may be somewhere else. Perhaps someone at JRiver can help us dig deeper?
