Title: Problem with dvds imported twice by JRiver
Post by: 8139david on January 27, 2016, 06:27:55 am
On a harddisc E:\, I had a folder of copies of dvds (including VIDEO_TS folder, ifo files, vob files, etc).
I had set JRiver to watch this folder.
Since I have many harddiscs, there was confusion between them, Windows assigning them sometimes the same letter.

So I renamed the drive as M:\ (in drive management).
Then within JRiver:
1) I "moved the movies", asking JRiver to rename folders and files starting with E:\ as starting with M:\.
JRiver recognizes that the movies are present on the drive.
2) I removed the following of drive E:\ by JRiver, and asked JRiver to follow M:\.

Now, when in JRiver I look at the files corresponding to M:\, I see that it has duplicated the movies: each movie now has two entries.
I did delete the redundant entries by hand. But JRiver has recreated some entries I deleted, so that some movies again have two entries.
So what can I do to solve this problem and have only one stable entry for each movie?

NB: I also tried this, but it didn't solve the problem:
I deleted all the movies from the library. Then reimported them (since they each have their sidecar).

Shouldn't he turn "ON" the "fix broken links" tool?

normally fix broken links will see that the info is the same, but the directory has changed...so it will "remake" the link

at least that's the settings i have on my external and network imports...
