As knickelfarz suggested in his Windows skin thread, I'm posting screen shots of the problem I'm having in MC 9.1 with white text showing up on a lot of the dialog windows. I only have four skins installed: Green Eyes, PixOS, WindozeClassic234 and Z. For some reason the problem doesn't seem to occur in as many places when using the Green Eyes skin. I've made shots of the Import Media Files dialog and the Options dialog as examples, but the white text shows up on other similar types of dialog screens as well.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Other odd behavior:
MC window doesn't behave like other windows.
I have a 5 button mouse and I have one of the buttons set to maximize the active window. MC seems to ignore this mouse click and just sits there.
Also, if I right-click on the task bar and choose Cascade Windows or Tile Windows, MC just sits there while all the other windows do what they're supposed to do.

I have checked "Import Media Files" and "Option">"General" but no "white" text. Good readable grey. Beta .234 and PixOS.
I also checked in MediaOne and WinMedia. No problems.

Any chance you could play around with the bit-depth of your display in Desktop > Properties to see if that makes a difference? (8-bit vs. 16-bit vs. 32-bit)
Thanks.

I have tried both 16 and 32 bit-depth.
No problems for me at least.

My default display bit-depth is True Color (32 bit). I tried all of the other bit-depth options, but still got the same results.
I also updated my graphics card drivers just to see if that might fix it, but it didn't. I didn't expect it to, though, as I update them pretty often. I don't think the drivers I was running were more than a month old.

Anybody on Win9x or WinME seeing this? Thanks.

I tried a complete uninstall and reinstall with version 9.1.238 and still have the white text. Seems I'm the only one having this problem. :(

Maybe try changing theme / appearance of the OS. Use all the standard options.
-
Tried that stuff too, but it didn't affect the white text in MC skins.
Uninstalled 9.1.238 and reinstalled 9.0 anyway, since I was having other issues with the recent betas (see Other Odd Behaviour in my first post) as well as not being able to create new view schemes or use already existing user created schemes without MC crashing.

Have you taken a careful look at other software running? Especially things you've installed lately?
-
The only things I've installed recently are ZoneAlarm and Norton AV 2003, but I was having the white text problem before that.
As for other programs, I'm not much of a multi-tasker, so I don't really have any programs (other than ZA and NAV) autostarting or running all the time. The only other autostart programs are the drivers for my epson scanner, microsoft keyboard and logitech mouse.

YES!
My PixOS has been looking like that for a long time. Green Eyes is fine. That's what I switch to after downloading each build being as the new ones seem to default to PixOS.
ALSO none of the skins on the web site will install but I have no trouble with knickelfarz's skins.

Ok! At least it's not just me.
My PixOS has been looking like that for a long time.
I think mine has been too. It just took awhile for me to realize that it was not how it was supposed to look.
