Hi Y'all,
Is there any interest in Network Media Receivers here? Sony's RoomLink is one, and HP has the EN5000. I've hacked a little support for the Sony into Media Server, but when I posted about it last week, I got no response. (The HP is a proprietary protocol).
Has anyone heard of the PrismIQ set top box? I think this is the same thing.

Hi John,
I'd probably be interested in the following two 'set top boxes':
- mythtv.org a linux pvr-system which is devided between backend and frontend.....
- dbox2 ( http://www.dbox2.info ). this a German pay-tv box (cabel and sat) which can run a special linux distribution..... (sorry, I don't think there's much english info available ;-) )

John,
I've heard of the PrismIQ system and I am currently seriously considering it, but I hate giving up MC in order to use it. I'd love to see MC "usable" with these types of systems so that I could use the MC gui (and database, and features, etc.) on the TV screen instead of the product-supplied interface and management system(s).
Keep up the research and hard work!
Thanks,
Wobbley

I think the market is still small and it's hard to see those products "live" (I'm looking forward to the IFA fair here in Berlin, it starts next weekend...) to get a real impression of the quality - But I think it's the future!
And all those devices only have rudimentary software for the server side (compared to MC)... maybe a nice opportunity for MC ;)

I would be interested in the slimp3 also. Purely from a multi zone control point of view.
However I would like to come up with my own LCD controller that could control MC in a multizone setup.
Has anyone had a go at this?
Can it be done?
How difficult would it be?
