Title: What is the "proper" way to watch a show that is currently recording?
Post by: tzr916 on February 07, 2016, 03:00:16 pm
Because I just tried it on the Server, selected the show from the guide, it played, pressed stop, and caused MC to CRASH, killing the recording and locking the tuner to that channel. Had to restart MC Server and tuner.

What you did should have worked, and shouldn't have caused a crash. However, it is possible to "crash" or just make MC sit not visibly doing anything for a time (lockup) which sometimes recovers, just by moving around the interface a lot while several things are going on.

If what you did can repeatably cause a crash, confirm that, and JRiver can then probably hunt down the cause from your logs.

I think it has been said before, but;
If you want to watch a program that is being recorded from the current time, start watching the channel, either via the Guide or via the Television view of Standard View.
If you want to watch a program that is being recorded from the beginning, start watching it from the recorded show record, in the Video/Shows view or equivalent.
