Title: Save a dynamically created playlist?
Post by: TimB on August 23, 2003, 04:36:44 pm
If I dynamically create a list of files on the fly using search criteria is there a way to then save that criteria as a Playlist?

Well, to save the current results to a playlist, just do a Ctrl-A (to select all), right-click on a track and then do a "Send to-->Playlist-->Create".

To save the search criteria as a playlist (aka smartlist), just create a smartlist, go to the search text box, type in the same thing you used in the "Find" text box, and viola!

Understood and appreciated but not what I'm looking for.

I'd like to do #2 without having to re-enter the criteria.  :)

Right click the criteria, choose "Edit by Typing", then hit Ctrl-C. Create your new smartlist, and in the criteria box, hit Ctrl-V.

That should do it. But this would be a good menu choice as well... "Save Results as Playlist" and "Save Criteria as Smartlist"
