Title: aacPlus audio files in MC
Post by: Lewin on February 16, 2016, 04:52:46 pm
When checking at the list in Tools > Options > File Types, it only mentions AAC. Is aacPlus (also called HE-AAC) supported? Are streaming stations in this format optimally decoded?

HE-AAC/aacPlus should work just fine and make use of all the extra AAC features in such audio streams.

Sounds like it works to me.  Try some of these:

Yes, it works. Thanks a lot for your answer. May I suggest the following:

a) Add aacPlus (HE-AAC) to the file list of supported audio playback formats.
b) For transparency and as additional info, add the decoder (incl. its version number) to each format on the list. This way, we can check with each new version of MC what has been updated.

Thanks for your support.
