My goal is to connect to my music library, which lives on a HP MicroServer 8, via USB to a digital amp, such as the NAD C390DD.
If I run JRiver on the server, but without the server being in the listening room, I then need a separate device, something like a G-bit connected Intel NUC running JRiver as a client, to feed the USB input of the NAD. My question is, how do I control a headless NUC, with only a tablet or phone? Is there a more elegant solution to controlling JRiver on a headless device then a remote desktop config?

You might find the JRiver Id worth a look:

Does Id provide Theater View and will it push SACD files without coughing? I might as well build a i5 NUC with a 1TB SSD, mirror my files and run MC is server mode.
MC seems so amazingly flexible and maybe there's a good reason for it, but why can't I remotely control a client like I can the server?
