Title: Screen goes wonky when MC changes TV refresh rate
Post by: Guybrush on February 24, 2016, 04:58:05 pm
I enable refresh rate changes in display settings which works great so far, in that it selects the correct refresh rate. However the screen resolution blows up (only able to see half the video) and everything goes green. This only happens in ROHQ in fullscreen. I've tried using madVR's display detection but it does not work as I want it to, so I want to get MC's working. And no, I don't have them both enabled simultaneously. Has anyone else seen this?

No thoughts or other experience with this? Again, the screen goes crazy in the conditions when JRiver has adjusted the refresh rate, I'm using ROHQ, and playing in fullscreen. I still haven't found a fix for this.

What Video card are you using?
Also what OS?

What refresh-resolution rate is causing the problem?

I have a 980Ti on Windows 10. Refresh rate of 23Hz and 60Hz cause problems. I can manually change the refresh rate to those in the Nvidia control panel and everything works fine. It is only when MC changes it for me. And I have confirmed that it is changing it correctly.

I had a similar, though not identical, problem.  The video would start playing before all of the hardware was ready.   This happened every time I switched refresh rates.  By setting the "Video -> Display Settings - Wait After Change" to 2 seconds, the problem went away.
