Title: Customise View dialog box gets Hidden
Post by: MusicBringer on February 26, 2016, 06:05:15 am
Hello folks, here's a problem that annoys.

After using the Customise View dialog box and the Set Rules for file display and pressing OK JRiver fails. It does not respond and just sits there.

It seems frozen. What in fact has happened is the dialog box takes itself to the back and hides behind other open windows such as browsers or file manager. You don't know that until you alt tab through all your open windows. Ok then needs a further click to close Customise View.

This happens to me pretty regularly.  But it is ALWAYS my fault!

If you press the OK button on the smaller dialog box, it always closes and applies changes correctly.  But if you instead press the OK button on the LARGER box, then it covers the smaller box and won't respond until you go find the smaller box (behind the bigger box) and close it.

It's kinda weird, but it's not "broken".  It's just easy to screw up.  Again, I do this ALL the time.

Brian.

Ha, I think what you are trying to say is that Size Matters  ;)

The Help Desk phrase I use when told about such annoyances is "Yes, it does that."

Come on devs, I am sure this is not what you intended. Please improve this.

thanks,

[Late Edit]
Mine behaves a bit different to yours.
Pressing the smaller Edit Search box causes the bigger Customise View to run away and hide.
I cannot press OK on the larger Customise View without first pressing Edit Search OK.
This cannot be what JRiver intended surely.

Seems like this is a known problem.

MC does seem to have Z-order issues with modal dialogs sometimes. I've never been able to track down exactly why it happens, though.

Given the confusion it has been causing I would have though there was a solution now...
