This is a recurring issue where I need to restart MC+ Media Server to get the Hauppage Blaster working again.
It's about the 4-5th times this has happened in the last 1-2 months and it never happened with Sage so it's not the blaster .exe. Not sure how to reproduce either...Hopefully you'll find what you need in the logs.
I sent you 3 rar files with logs.
1 = logs
2= previous logs
3=system info
thx

I have two Hauppauge TV Tuner cards and I can control them fine with any MCE compatible remote - so I assume you are trying to control a "Colossus" capture card?
I have one of these too, and I was able to somewhat control it with a standard remote, using a IR blaster plugged into the Colossus, but I never got it 100% problem free. I was getting double numbers ( I would press "442" and get 444442). Other than that it seemed to work fine with my Harmony remote. I never installed any software from Hauppauge to get the remote working. I don't have SAT anymore so I just use it to record something off FireTV from time to time (where I don't need to use the remote).
What is the problem you're having?

This is a recurring issue where I need to restart MC+ Media Server to get the Hauppage Blaster working again.
Sent logs to Yaobing hopefully he will have a look at them. I'm using the hauppage IR blaster. When it works it works perfectly but MC may stop sending commands after a while..Very Sporadic but definitely problematic as I will lose recordings due to this...
Yes this is the Colossus we're talking about with a Satellite Box. I'm not using the Media Center Remote HUB for the blaster commands but the Hauppage ir blaster connected in the colossus and the blastcfg.exe to configure it to my STB. I too use the harmony remote as a media center remote. As I said, when it works it works great!
thx

Here we go again. Blaster not responding since last night! Didi you get a chance to look at my log files?
Anyone else experiencing this with the Hauppage blaster?
-
The fix is to restart Media Center + Server. Just Media Center will not work.
Could it have anything to do with the JRService.exe still running after a crash as I think it's responsible for the IR commands being sent?
-
This happened again yesterday morning...
Could it be due to using the blaster through a client instance?
-
What do you mean by a client instance?
-
Accessing my server PC through a client session from another PC..Doesn't seem to be it as I couldn't reproduce...
-
Yaobbing It's happening again. I just sent you fresh logs. I will leave it in this current state for a few more hours if you need anything else from me to test let me know.
Pleazze!
Thx

As an FYI I didn't access it from a client but from the htpc where the STB is so I don't think this is it...
The only clue I have is I left MC in Theater view overnight...Probably doesn't mean much...
I did go in the configuration to take snapshots I sent earlier but didn't change anything...
Aside from this I have no clue why this is happening...

The call into Hauppauge's IR blast module failed. I don't know what to make of this. However, I made a change so that we will recreate the Hauppauge object and retry on failure.

This is excellent thank you sir!

So far so good...I'll wait a little longer to make sure it's all good and close this off...Thx again Yaobing.
