Title: Settings for Multi-Channel DSD (to PCM) over HDMI?
Post by: durufle on February 28, 2016, 06:44:59 am
I have some new multi-channel DSD recordings that I'd like to try out in my theater.  I don't have a processor that supports DSD yet, so I was hoping JRiver could convert them to PCM and send them out the HDMI port.  What settings should I use?  I think the last time I tried, I got an error saying it couldn't play the file without changing DSP/Output format settings.  My goal would be to do as little processing as possible.

Thanks for any advice.

In DSP Studio, set the number of channels to what your device supports (5.1/7.1 etc) and set the sample rate for 352,800Hz (1x DSD) to the highest that your receiver supports.

If you open up the Sound Control Panel in Windows and bring up the properties for your HDMI device, it should tell you what formats are supported if you aren't sure.
