Title: New here, I hope to stay

Hi folks.  I cut the cable cord back in '08 when I was laid off.  I've tried a number of different PVR/HTPC programs and only really loved BeyondTV.  Anyway, I have tried a number of open source programs in the last few months since switching back from a mac to a windows (7) PC and am frustrated.  Free is great, open source is great....if you know what you're doing.  So, I d'loaded JRiver today, hoping I'll love it in the 30-day trial.   
I guess this is a pointless post really.  Just an introduction.
