Title: Passing control of my pc to external programs

I have JRiver setup to take exclusive control of my pc while it is running but I run into problems when I launch PowerDVD.  If I hit next track, and probably other remote buttons, JRiver sees the command, and starts playing my music in the middle of the movie.  Is there a way to tell JRiver to grant powerdvd control of my media keys, but still use JRiver WDM as the audio device, or do I have to shut down JRiver entirely before I watch Blu-ray discs from my PC?  Thanks
