Title: Windows 10 MC20 problem
Post by: sebassie on April 03, 2016, 03:24:20 pm
As I am mainly using my Mac I haven't been using MC20 for windows for quite a while. In the meantime I have upgraded my windows 8 to windows 10. When trying to run MC20 I get the message: 'Media Center was installed for a different operating system. Please reinstall Media Center'.
I have downloaded the latest version 200132 but I get the same message after install. Running in compatibility mode (windows 7 or 8) does not help.
What can I do?

Thanks.

Did you try MC21?

No I didn't. I have read some threads on this topic and understood that MC20 should run with windows 10 after a reinstall of the latest version of mc20. So I did, but the problem persists.

edit: I just installed mc21 trial and it runs. mc20 refuses to run despite a new install.
I also installed mc20 in bootcamp (Windows 10) on my Mac. Same problem.
Maybe an Windows update causes this.

The problems with MC20 did not occur on an older pc running windows 10 in a basic setup without updates. However, after running windows update today and installing all updates, MC20 no longer  runs.

I decided to go the easy way and purchased MC21 master. MC21 runs fine on all systems.
