Title: Accessing APE Files using JRemote

I just got JRemote up and running and plan to use it remotely to access my music in MC on my laptop.  I have a number of CDs i ripped to APE format, which currently i'm unable to play using the JRemote.  Is there a way to set JRemote to play these as MP3s automatically, or do I have to re-ripp and save a alternate copy as MP3?  Or in the future is there a better format to choose when ripping a new CD? Thank you.
