I hope this isn't true.
http://www.zdnet.com/article/apple-drops-ipv4-internet-support/
-
I wouldn't be surprised if Android followed suit.
Funny, I just enabled IPv6 on my connection this morning.
-
I don't mind their supporting IPv6. Requiring it seems a little tough.
-
Seems perfectly reasonable to me, after all IPv6 has only been around for 20 years! It's about time the transition was made.
The article is a verbose rehash of an article on an Apple developer site, so is probably true.

The headline and ZDnet news article is misleading. I read the Apple Dev docs.
In June Apple is requiring that all apps submitted support IPv6. This is because some cell providers will be switching to IPv6 only service (that's where the "only" is coming from).
They are not dropping support for IPv4. Your app can support IPv4 and v6. You just can't submit a new app or app update unless you also add IPv6 support.
